Kering's most significant tailoring holding is Brioni, acquired in 2012. The Penne workshop and the tailoring school continue under the group's ownership.

As with any group acquisition, the consequences show first in aesthetic direction and product breadth rather than in manufacturing.

Why this page exists

Corporate ownership is a matter of public record and is almost never displayed in a shop. This site records it on every brand page so that a claim of family continuity can be checked against the shareholder register rather than taken on trust. It is not an accusation. A group-owned house can make excellent clothes and frequently does.

Brioni under Kering

The Penne workshop and the tailoring school continue, and the core tailoring remains what it was. What has changed since 2012 is the pace of creative direction (several designers, several repositionings) and the breadth of the product range beyond tailoring.
