The Neapolitan shirt

Worn under a structured English coat it can look insubstantial, which is a matter of matching rather than quality.
What hand-work does to a shirt
Hand-attached collars and sleeves, hand-sewn buttonholes and hand-set shoulder seams are not decorative. A hand-attached collar can be eased around the neck rather than fed through a machine straight, and the result sits differently under a jacket: flatter at the back, closer at the front.
Whether that justifies the price is a judgement each buyer makes. What is not in question is that it is a different object from a machine-made shirt, and that the difference is visible in how it sits rather than only in the finishing.
